Parkour and Freerunning

THE WORLD'S BEST PARKOUR AND FREERUNNING 2014-15

Parkour is a method of physical training that develops one’s ability to overcome obstacles (both physical and mental). It involves movement that will help if one is in a reach or escape emergency situation.

David Belle credits the development of Parkour from time spent  with his father.

Parkour and Freerunning – These are not the same thing. They are quite different from each other in their purpose and goals. Practitioners of Parkour are called Traceurs, Freerunning practitioners are called Freerunners.

An interesting video

Parkour

Parkour is a holistic training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training
Practitioners aim to get from A to B in the most efficient way possible. This is done using only the human body and the surroundings for propulsion, with a focus on maintaining as much momentum as possible while still remaining safe. Parkour can include obstacle courses, running, climbing, swinging, mantling, vaulting, jumping, rolling, quadrupedal movement, and the like, depending on what movement is deemed most suitable for the given situation.

Parkour is an activity that can be practiced alone or with others. Although it can be practiced in any location, it is usually practiced in urban spaces. Parkour involves seeing one's environment in a new way, and imagining the potentialities for navigating it by movement around, across, through, over and under its features.
Developed in France, primarily by Raymond Belle, David Belle, and Sébastien Foucan during the late 1980s, Parkour became popular in the late 1990s and 2000s through films, documentaries, and advertisements featuring these practitioners and others.

Parkour

Do you know what is parkour ? Parkour is a strange hobby for some people who love gym and buildings. Generally this sport is really dangerous, beautiful when you see it. If I was more brave, I would like to start this hobby. What about you? Which is your favourite hobby?

My school and what I like about it.

My school is in the centre of Heraklion. The professors there are very friendly and kind with us, except our maths professor who is a bit strict and rude.My school is big with a very big basketball, football and voleyball court for us to play.In addition to this, I like the fact that it has a lab and a gym with many lights in them.Unfortunately, my school hasn't got a library with many books so I can't find many books from there.I like that the majority of our professors are kind with us.

Formal email

Dear Ms Ruby,
I saw your advert in a magazine yesterday.I wonder if you could answer some questions.
Firstly, what date does the course begin on and how many weeks is the course?I would like to know because I'm going to travel abroad in summer. Also can we take interviews from fashion designers? Is it necessary to have an interview? Moreover, you don't refer to how much the lessons cost. Can we pay by cash or and by credit card?
Finally, you say that our future could be in your hands.Does that mean that you will help the students to find a job?
I look forward to receiving more information from you in order to call you and see the details.

  Yours sincerely,
  Konstantina Miminou

Dear Mrs Rosta

I saw your advert online yesterday. I wonder if you could answer some questions .
Firstly, can you tell me how I can make my own T-shirts? Can I send a picture from a magazine or can I send you a photo by MMS?
Furthermore, could you please inform me how much a T-shirt costs? You say that your prices are amazing,  but do they change according to the size and material or not?
I look forward to receiving more information from you so that I can send you my design.

                                      Yours sincerely,
Nikos Kokkinos

A review about a tavern!

The review which is following is about a Greek tavern called ''Squids and Fish''.We went there with my friend's family.
The place was like an aqarium. There was a place where you could see fish behind glass.I liked the food. For starter,I offered a delicious tuna salad, for main course a fantastic crab and for dessert an apple pie with honey which I didn't like that much.
In spite of the apple pie,the service was attentive, efficient but, some of the waiters were a bit inexperienced, so they were a bit clumsy. We were lucky because none of the clumsy waiters dropped anything on us.
Finally,I recommend that tavern because the food was really tasty and the people were friendly and attentive.

A book for Geniuses.

My favourite hobby is reading books. I read books all day, every day. I rarely find books, which are really good.
Three months ago I went to my favourite library, which is called Bookbox, to borrow a book. I had been looking for a special book for five hours. Suddenly a book fell down from the bookcase. The book's title was ''Book for Geniuses''.
I found that title interesting and after a lot of thought, I borrowed it. I started reading the book and I couldn't stop. It was a book for people who like Mathematics and History. I'm not telling you the story, because you must read it.
I liked that the writer was very clever so his book was breathtaking. I didn't feel bored and I didn't sleep the the nights, because I wanted to learn the end. It was really the best book I have ever read.
I would surely recommend you this book, because it isn't a book, it's <<the>> book.

Restaurant review

This is a review of cibo delazioso,an Italian restaurant near my house.I went there for my friends birthday.

The place was attractive and modern with beautiful decoration and a lot of little tasteful lamps! However, the food was not good-value for money at all and it was tasteless and cold.

The service was slow and the waiter was a bit clumsy. We were 8 people and all the tables were too small, for 2,3 and 4 people. When the waiter saw us,he told us to wait a minute. After 10 minutes,he showed us 3 connected tables for us and we were the only customers! After that,we ordered 4 pizzas and after 30 minutes, they served us 4 cold pizzas. While we were eating,we ordered some colas. When the waiter came with them,he dropped one on my friend's mobile phone and it broke.

In spite of the beautiful and tasteful restaurant, the service and the food were not very satisfactory.I would not recommend this restaurant.
